The adjustable belt base provides the right support for the lower back and thoracic region. The angle of the back, as well as the enhanced support for the lumbar zone, allows you to comfortably sit on the sofa for a long time in any position.
The Kyns sofa is delivered assembled and has 2 versions: 2-seater and 3-seater. The back part has 3 hinged supports, which allows one to evenly distribute the weight load of the sofa. The front supports that turn into the armrests are available in 3 finishes: natural oak, walnut tinted oak or graphite enamel. The color can be changed according to the RAL colour chart.

In any case, this is a space where you want to create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere, an important element of which is the sofa. It is a sofa that occupies a significant part of the room and is able to set the right tone. Appearing in the interior, the rounded shapes of the Kyns sofa will immediately add playful undertones and a friendly atmosphere. Like a cat curled up in a ball, the Kyns hugs the person sitting on it, evoking a sense of security, warmth and comfort.
The Kyns sofa is a continuation of the collection of the same name. It began with a dining table designed around the central idea of stability, visual lightness and tenacity. It was the word "tenacious" that prompted the idea of the cat family. This idea was actively developed while making the sketches of the first items in this collection. It was then that the primary image of the future chair was formed.
The game of contrasts is one of the distinguishing features of UNIKA furniture: a graphic rigid frame and soft cloud-like, Hans sofa cushions; a chair from the collection with the same name, which brings elements of both Eastern and Western cultures into the interior: or the Casper table with a monolithic base and a thin top making it seem as if it were “floating above the ground”, and much more. The Kyns armchair continues a good tradition because its rounded shapes and soft upholstery resemble a pet. The simultaneously graceful, “tenacious” legs which smoothly turn into armrests send us back to its predatory ancestor.
Technically, it turned out to be very difficult to maintain the structural rigidity and stability of the object while transitioning from soft forms to refined front edges. Additionally, the main task in creating the sofa was to maintain the right proportions of form and level of comfort, which were created during the development of the Kyns armchair.
Time spent on an armchair is different from that spent on a sofa. On an armchair, a person can lean on both armrests at once while maintaining the correct posture. On a sofa, the variety of human positions is much greater. You can lean on only one armrest, which leads to an asymmetric back position and requires additional support for the thoracic and lumbar regions. When sitting in the center of the sofa, the support must be symmetrical; consequently, a direct repetition of the a chair structure cannot be applied to the sofa. To solve this problem, it was necessary to structurally revise the back of the sofa, deepening it closer to the center and adding extra support in the lumbar region.
